Career HighlightsSix years as a technical editor and documentation manager at Microsoft Corporation, 1990 to 1996. Led writing and editing teams that produced several versions of Microsoft Access on-line help. Managed the content development for the Answer Wizard for Microsoft Access. Two years as a technical writer and documentation manager for Tidemark Computer Systems, Seattle, WA, 1988 to 1990. Three years as an instructional designer for the Mining Extension Service, West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, 1980 to 1983. Co-authored the textbook Principles of Web Design, published as part of the Allyn & Bacon Series in Technical Communication, Longman Publishers, 2002. Created 150 graphics, indexed the book, and developed the book's website. www.uwtc.washington.edu/pwd Co-authored two well-regarded journal articles: "Guidelines for Designing Web Navigation," Technical Communication, Vol. 47, No. 3 (Third Quarter, 2000) and "Manuscript Surprises: A Problem in Copy Editing," Technical Communication, Vol. 28, No. 2 (Second Quarter, 1981). |
